When creating the This is Me Enzyme mask there was a very clear mission coming straight from the top (aka Phoebe 😂). Develop a natural and gentle liquid exfoliator that would not only renew, smooth, and brighten but also clear blemishes.
Designed for all skin types (even sensitive or reactive skin), your skin will look better immediately after using This Is Me, and the next day it’s even better again!
Gone are the days of using Benzyl Peroxide and Tea tree oil to help clear breakouts, or glycolic acid to resurface the skin. Instead, we've carefully curated a range of new and proven staple ingredients to provide the best balance for your skin.
White Willowbark - It only took the western world a few thousand years to catch on to the benefits of Willowbark but we finally did. High in salicin White Willowbark has anti inflammatory and antibacterial properties which is it is great at clearing pores and reducing the visible signs of acne and redness.
Kakadu plum - the native Australian ancient fruit full of Vitamin C. This little ripper meets the brief perfectly. It’s nutrient content brightens, clears, soothes and smoothes the appearance of your skin.
Vitamin B3 - This is in our top 2 best ingredients as it does something for everyone. Vitamin B3 helps reduce blemishes, strengthen the skin barrier, lighten the appearance of pigmentation, visibly reduces the appearance of pores and improves overall skin tone. Time to take a breath.
Fermented Yeast Extract - exfoliates and brightens the skin. It gently helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles, stimulates skin renewal, and actively refines and restores your skin's texture and radiance. It has the bonus benefit of helping reduce the appearance of blemishes which is one of the reasons the This is Me is an amazing spot treatment.
Fermented Papaya Extract - When it comes to enzymes Papaya is the expert with its high concentration of Papain. Papain keeps pores clear, helps to remove keratin bumps, reduces visible redness and helps your skin to visibly recover from a breakout.
AHA - Alpha Hydroxy acids like glycolic acid and lactic acid have been the mainstay of peels and exfoliators for decades. They are extremely effective but when used incorrectly can damage your skin. As no one wants an acid burn we have included AHA’s from fruit extracts. A combination of Bilberry, Sugar, maple, lemon and orange extracts have naturally occurring glycolic, lactic, tartaric, malic and citric acid which provide a gentle exfoliating and skin renewal action.
- After cleansing apply a generous layer of the mask gel onto your face and massage in circular motions for 30 seconds, working the mask into your pores (don't skip this step!).
- If you don’t have sensitive skin, try leaving the mask on for 2 to 10 minutes, starting with 2 and working your way up to 10 with subsequent uses. See below for more tips for sensitive skin or extending your mask-wearing time past 10 minutes.
- A subtle tingle & slight redness is normal and a sign of the mask doing its thing, but you shouldn't ever feel uncomfortable. If you feel uncomfortable or the tingle is increasing, it's time to wash the mask off. If you don't experience a tingle, that's perfectly OK too, and the mask is still doing its job.
- Wash off the mask with lukewarm water and a Konjac Sponge or soft washcloth.
- Follow with your favourite tonics, serums and, moisturisers and get yourself ready for your skin to look AMAZING tomorrow.
- A little "purge" is normal. You may experience a few blemishes when you start using This Is Me, but with regular use they will heal quickly and stay away (we hope!).
- This mask is best used 1 to 2 times per week in the evening (so you're not exposed to the sun immediately after).
- As with any type of exfoliation, please remember to be sun-safe and wear SPF. Enjoy!
Sensitive skin tips: For those of us with sensitive skin, if you didn't have any reactions after following the directions above, you can try leaving it on for 1 minute next time, and start wearing it a minute longer each time to find your optimal mask-wearing duration for maximum skin joy.
Bonus insider tip #1 - SPOT TREATMENT: We've also been loving using the 'This Is Me' Enzyme Exfoliating Mask as a spot treatment! Just pat a small amount onto your pimple or blackhead. Please monitor your skin carefully when doing this and if your skin starts to show redness or tingle, it's time to remove it.
Bonus insider tip #2 - EXTENDING YOUR MASKING TIME: If your skin isn't sensitive, you may be able to wear the mask for up to 20 minutes to get even better results. Please do this with caution, building up gradually and only if you have worn the mask for shorter periods of time without irritation.
Store below 30 degrees celcius away from direct sunlight. Patch test before use.
Discontinue if irritation occurs.

I am a big fan of a weekly exfoliation, and this product has been a lovely replacement for the Ordinary's purple exfoliating serum that I used for years. I've been using it as a spot treatment on some deep underskin spots and it has helped reduce them. I don't have particularly sensitive skin and can easily keep it on for the 10 minutes without any significant tingling. After use, my skin feels smooth and soft!
